"Gotcha Reading"Teen Photo Contest
For teens entering grades 7-12 and 2008 high school graduates. Looking for 5x7 or 8x10 photos of people reading. Submission accepted June 23 through July 25. Prizes awarded for the most original place found reading, the most humorous and the most artistic. Photos to be displayed in the Library in August. Photos should be dropped at the Circulation Desk if the Teen desk is closed. Students should fill out forms to accompany the photos. Sponsored by the John and Patricia Curran Teen Fund. Teens transform a pair of jeans or jean jacket into a one-of-a-kind piece using paint, markers, rhinestones, fringe, fabric and other materials. Teen craft program (for students entering grades 7-12). Using mat boards, students will use line, color, value, texture, shape and form to give meaning to a word. For example, WILD could have a variety of bright colors, written out in a funky style and have lots of beads, yarn, etc., on it. Registration suggested.
